Belated Happy Valentine’s Day to all! I hope you had a lovely time whatever you did, whoever you were with. Whether you had a special Valentine or not I hope you felt loved and loved someone else back not just last Friday but always. My Valentine’s Day was spent in typical fashion, spent time with my family. I’m sure you have figured it out, I am unattached and loving it. It is better this way, less headache AND I have all the freedom in the world to do the things I want to do. No need to worry about a second party when planning my days, my trips, my life.
So to keep myself busy this long weekend - Monday is President’s Day, in case you didn’t know - I rented some DVDs. So far I’ve only seen two of the five I rented. First one I watched was The Dangerous Life of Altar Boys starring Kieran Culkin and Jodie Foster. It’s a nice movie albeit it had moments that dragged on forever, e.g. the scenes involving Jenna Malone. It’s funny and sad at the same time. I’d say it’s entertaining, all in all.
The next movie I watched was a foreign film from Argentina called Plata Quemada (Burnt Money) starring Leonardo Sbaraglia and the very gorgeous Eduardo Noriega. For those who don’t know, Eduardo played the guy in the original, Spanish version of Vanilla Sky (Abre Los Ojos). Plata Quemada is based on the true story of two robbers turned killers who held Argentina and Uruguay hostage in 1965. The movie is violent and contains lots of nudity but all in all, I thought it was an OK movie.
Finally, in honor of Valentine’s Day I thought I’d end today’s entry by posting the lyrics to one of my favorite love songs. If I ever get married, I want this song played in my wedding. I hope you enjoy it! Until next entry.
That’s All
(Bob Haymes/Alan Brandt)
I can only give you love that lasts forever
And a promise to be near each time you call
And the only heart I own
For you and you alone
That’s all, that’s all.
I can only give you country walks in springtime
And a hand to hold when leaves begin to fall
And a love whose burning light will warm the winter’s night
That’s all, that’s all.
There are those I am sure who have told you
They would give you the world for a toy
All I have are these arms to enfold you
And a love time can never destroy.
If you’re wondering what I’m asking in return, dear
You’ll be glad to know that my demands are small
Say it’s me that you’ll adore
For now and evermore
That’s all, that’s all.
