1. What were your favorite childhood stories?
Where I grew up, chidren’s books - other than elementary school textbooks - were hard to come by. We read whatever we could get our hands on. At home we had this book of short stories but sadly, I hardly remember now their titles. I do remember being so fascinated by one story about the Three Kings and their journey towards the manger where Mary laid to rest and gave birth to Jesus. The story vividly described the three kings, their mission, the gifts they brought with them and the bright star that guided them.

2. What books from your childhood would you like to share with [your] children?
I can’t say there’s one book from my childhood that stands out in my mind but there is one book - read later, when I was much older - that I would definitely share: Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach.

3. Have you re-read any of those childhood stories and been surprised by anything?
Can’t say I have re-read any of them.

4. How old were you when you first learned to read?
Six, I think.

5. Do you remember the first ‘grown-up’ book you read? How old were you?
I doubt they’re considered “grown-up” but the Nancy Drew mysteries were probably one of the first ones.
