Ah, the beauty of having Fridays off. Today, day after Christmas, I didn’t have to get up to go to work and I didn’t have to take vacation to do so because I have Fridays off. I work longer days (10 hours) but I have that extra weekend-day off and it’s the best. I would not trade it for anything.
This morning, I went to Curves thinking they’d be open, but they weren’t. So instead I drove up to Lake Merced and took a walk around the lake. No, not the entire area of the lake, just half — just the shortcut. It was a good walk. The morning breeze was crisp, with the sun just barely slipping past the dark clouds brought by the rain from the previous days. While I was walking, I experienced complete silence. Silence inside of me and around me. Every now and then a jogger would pass by but I can’t seem to hear them either. It was like the world around me was in mute mode. And I loved it! It’s been awhile since I’ve felt such a thing.
