Reading: The Alchemist (Paul Coelho)
Watching: Smallville
Pondering: The days come and go like muffled and veiled figures sent from a distant friendly party, but they say nothing, and if we do not use the gifts they bring, they carry them as silently away. (Ralph Waldo Emerson)
Phew! I just came back home and now I’m off again. Hey, I could get used to this lifestyle…
Last weekend, I was in Vancouver, British Columbia, stayed at my favorite hotel — favorite indulgence, really - and enjoyed the city’s gloomy yet welcoming and soothing weather of rain and more rain. And oh, I slept in the most luxurious bed I could ever imagine. Every morning I woke up to the view of launching airplane boats and Stanley Park, albeit the view is covered in mist and fog. But the sun actually peeked a little bit on our last day so that my sister and I were able to hop on to one of those cool and efficient hop-on-hop-off tour buses and spent half the day riding around the city and stopping especially at Stanley Park. My sister took pictures of the Park and the pics are lovely.
We came back from Vancouver later Monday morning and this afternoon, I was off again and this time to Las Vegas, Nevada for a 2-day conference at the Monte Carlo. As expected, the room here isn’t as luxurious as at the Pan Pacific but I’ve got a view of the Vegas strip and a high-speed in-room Internet access and the Casinos down below so it’s good enough for me. In the next few days, my sisters will be joining so after the conference, it’s all fun for the three of us. What a way to welcome my 31st birthday! Lovely days ahead, indeed…
