The past thirty-one years have been blessed, I should say. I’ve had my ups and downs in life - and continue to have them as we speak - but those moments have made me who I am. I have dreams that have taken a back seat, dreams I have slowly forgotten and learned to let go. I’ve made decisions I would rather forget and have friends I would like to talk to more often. Yet I also have memories of a childhood that was filled with promise and adventure and pictures of birthday and Christmas parties, New Year celebrations, Sunday trips to the beach, graduation ceremonies, and short trips here and there. I hold on to these images for they never fail to bring laughter to my heart when I am sad. They serve as reminders to me that though it may not seem like it on certain days, life’s been good to me…
