Reading: Recipe books
Listening: My sister’s solo Karaoke concert
Pondering: What makes my approach special is that I do different things. I do jazz, blues, country music and so forth. I do them all, like a good utility man. (Ray Charles)
I went to see my last Keith Urban show of the year at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California. It was a special night - as most nights I spend watching in awe this creature from Australia who is a master of his guitar, of the audience, and the stage. Tonight though it was extra special maybe because it’s the first KU show I’ve been to that’s in my own backyard. Maybe because it’s the holidays and he sang White Christmas. Maybe it’s because I got to touch the man - yes! precious, I touched his shoulders as he circled the arena during his rousing Where the Blacktop Ends performance. I think it’s a combination of all these reasons.
The show has ended almost two hours ago and I’m still reeling from it. I should be sleeping but I’m not sleepy yet, voice hoarse once again from jamming too much. I want to see more of Keith but alas! I have to wait long before I see him again. I may not even be able to see him next year. Who knows?

What else can I say about the man? He’s dug a hole in my savings account and eaten up all of my vacation time, still I love him. Pathetic but happy he has made me.

He’s jumped off the “country” stations out here and right onto the mainstream ones!
You TOUCHED him!

Keri, that’s awesome news! I wish he wins the Grammys. Wouldn’t that be great?
