There and Back Again

Little by little, one travels far.

Goodbye, Spain…Hello (Again) London

Pondering: There are only two ways to live your life – one is as though nothing is a miracle, the other is as if everything is. (Albert Einstein)

…and maybe Paris and maybe, just maybe, Switzerland.

My sister and I were planning to tour Spain this year but did you know, that Spain is one of the most expensive places to visit? The airfare alone costs an arm and a leg. Plus the country is so huge, you have to take two tours to hit the spots you want or take one tour and train your way around the country to see the other can’t-miss cities.

So we’re saying goodbye to that plan for now. Besides, I still don’t know how to speak Spanish. Maybe we’ll revisit the idea next year.

For now, we’ve settled on going to London in May. A vacation package with Virgin Atlantic can cost less than $1,000, even if you throw in a few days in Paris. That’s good enough for me. As of writing, my sister – the event planner – is checking how much more dough we need to dish to do a side-trip to Switzerland.

This means, that for the next three months, I have to put a lid on spending and save, save, save! And yeah, lose weight so I look good in my vacation pictures…

I can hardly wait.

Tuscany. Five years. Four and a half. I have nothing in my piggy bank. But that’s what I’m shooting for. And a daughter starting college in a year and a half. Ha! Hahahahaha!

Has she decided on a university/college yet? One of your recent posts said something about touring the campus…

Tuscany - ah! I’d love to go there too. That and South of France. Ay, we can only dream for that great Lotto ticket to take us away from here.
