Listening to: The Hardest Part (Coldplay)
Pondering: Every day I shall put my papers in order and every day I shall say farewell. And the real farewell, when it comes, will only be a small outward confirmation of what has been accomplished within me from day to day. (Etty Hellisum)
My office mate Cynthia who is one of the nicest people I know, is leaving to pursue other things. I’ve known she was leaving for awhile now but it wasn’t official news until last Monday’s staff meeting, when she announced it to the rest of the office.
I truly admire her courage to pursue what it is she wants, despite not knowing what lies out there if she did. She knows her priorities in life and she’s willing to sacrifice things for it.
I will miss her. Will miss having her next door to my cubicle. Will miss talking to her about the latest diet craze and the need to visit the gym (yet never going). I will miss our walks to Starbucks and our afternoon, in-between work chit-chats.
But I am happy for her because she made a decision about where she wants to go, what she wants to do and whichever way she goes, she will be successful.
She is a wonderful person.

Got a favorite on X & Y yet? I’m loving it. All of it. It hasn’t replaced Keane as my favorite CD, but my daughter snuck off with that one and I haven’t found it yet. *sigh*
I’m reading A Drink Before the War and can’t put it down. Dennis Lehane is the king…. He’s rockin’ my literary WORLD. I’m adding your blog to my new reading blog. It’s just starting and I don’t know what I’ll do with it. For now it’s just a list of what I’m reading to replace the old updated single post…
Huggles, dear!

Yes, yes! I am lovin’ the CD and so far Fix You, Square One, and Hardest Part are the most memorable ones. And no, Coldplay hasn’t - and will not - surpassed Keane as a favorite.
Your daughter who snuck out with your Keane CD ought to be commended. It’s a good CD to ’steal.’
And what did I tell you about Lehane? He is the man! The whole Genaro-Kenzie series is a blast to read and Drink Before the War is my favorite. BUT, Shutter Island should be on your list of must reads. I am so sure you’ll enjoy it.
