Little by little, one travels far.

Listening to: To the End of the Earth (Keane)
Pondering: It is necessary to work, if not from inclination, at least from despair. Everything considered, work is less boring than amusing oneself. (Pierre Charles Baudelaire)

There hasn’t been much to write about lately. Life’s status quo, you might say. Nothing exciting has happened that’s worth writing about.

There are a couple of things brewing. My sister and I are planning to buy a house so we are researching a few things to get us going. The thought is very exciting to me and I wish I could just skip through the prep, the research, the meeting with the loan agent and the actual purchase and wake up to my own new house without a sweat. But that’s too much to ask for, I suppose. This is a big responsibility and I need to focus.

This week is a week of Coldplay. Hurray! They are coming to the Bay Area for shows at the Oakland Arena and San Jose’s HP Pavilion. Sis and I got tickets to both shows. This should make life at work this week easier to get through because I have something to look forward to. I can hardly wait. Rumor has it they added X & Y and The Hardest Part to their set-list. Awesome!

Then there are a couple of vacations to plan. I am definitely going to Spain this year, hopefully in the winter. In July, my sister and I are thinking about going to London again. (We love London! If we could, we’d move there.) But we’re also thinking about going to someplace tropical, maybe a cruise or perhaps another go at Playa del Carmen. We can’t decide. We just know we need to schedule it so that work would not get in the way.

I am finally beginning to read Jose Saramago’s The Double. I’m getting used to his writing and I am totally enjoying this book. Hopefully I can finish it this week so I can get to Ian McEwan’s Saturday, which I got for my birthday and which promises to be interesting too.

Hopefully, next week brings in better stories to write about…
