There and Back Again

Little by little, one travels far.

See You Soon

Listening to: Precious (Depeche Mode)
Pondering: In a telescope lens and when all you want is friends, I’ll see you soon. (Chris Martin)

Yesterday, I was reading Coldplay’s newest eZine and in it they have an interview with Guy Berryman – the bassist. In the interview Guy is talking excitedly about the near end of their 16-month Twisted Logic Tour in support of their last album, X&Y. The band is on the road until July when the tour ends in Japan and after July, who knows? It might be a year, or three years before they release new material and before I can see them on tour again. What a sad thought!

There are other artists to watch out for, of course. Keane, my other favorite band, for instance, are dropping their second album, Under the Iron Sea in June and will hopefully tour the US in the fall. Also in June, I will be introduced to Snow Patrol when they come to San Francisco’s The Warfield. Arctic Monkeys are coming to town too. Maybe I’ll check them out as well.

And yes, there’s the exciting Austin City Limits Festival in September, which again takes me back to the original reason of this entry. In last year’s festival, Coldplay headlined and I had a blast despite being so far away from the stage. I guess I’m a fanatic because I enjoyed every show I saw even though the set-list didn’t change too much and Chris Martin’s stage theatrics were almost the same all the time.

So I guess I’ll just be waiting patiently then…What else can I do?

On another note: If you haven’t noticed yet, I’ve been into Depeche Mode since I saw them in concert two weeks ago. My desk is cluttered with DM cds and my iPod “DM” playlist is on constant repeat mode. This weekend, I purchased $70 worth of DM music in iTunes. Too bad their tour is near-end too!
