Listening to: Lost in the Stars (Martin Gore)
Pondering: A friend of mine asked me to open a sports bar in London, and the media were there. This fella started interviewing me, thinking I was Sean Bean. (Richard Gough)
It’s Day 2 in London. My sister Myra and I didn’t do much today on account of two things: we’re still a bit jetlagged and I wasn’t feeling too well this morning - stomach bug or something. I wanted to stay local in case I had to retire early. We took it easy today.
Instead, we went to the London Victoria Station just across from the hotel to peruse information regarding possible day trips we can do while we’re here. The lines running along the Victoria station are terminus for train services to the south and southeast of England including Brighton, Rochester and Canterbury. It is also home to the Gatwick Express, which connects Londoners to its second busiest airport, Gatwick. This is the busiest and one of the largest terminals in London. Also the most convenient as it has connections to the Underground, the Victoria Coach station and bus station.
After thinking about it, Myra and I decided it’s probably cheaper to take the bus for our first day trip out of London so we booked a trip for Stonehenge, Bath and Salisbury for tomorrow morning. While we were there, we also bought train tickets for Battle, Hastings for Thursday. We’ll probably schedule more as the week progresses.
As for now we have two trips booked. And oh yes, a visit with Auntie Lily probably this weekend, which reminds me I need to call her.
