Listening to: Serious (Duran Duran)
Pondering: We can do more good by being good, than in any other way. (Rowland Hill)
I’m in my parents house tonight, house-sitting as mom and dad round off the last two weeks of their vacation. Earlier this morning, my sister and I had lunch with an office mate of mine, Myla. We went to an eat-all-you-can Asian restaurant where I stuffed myself with so much walnut prawns, I don’t think I can eat another walnut prawn the rest of the year. Afterwards, my sister and I went to my parents house to find out that my other sister forgot to unlock the garage door of my parent’s house and we can’t get inside the house so we went to see a movie in the city instead. We went to see “Notes on a Scandal” which I thought was fantastic! One of the few great films I’ve seen of late. Cate Blanchett was great and Dame Judy Dench was equally fabulous as the villainous, obsessive, possessive, bitchy “friend.” Fantastic storytelling indeed! After the movie, we met up with my other sister and had dinner at this so-so Japanese restaurant where I had a so-so chicken udon. Good thing I wasn’t too hungry.
The other thing I did today was to spend money I didn’t have. First I bought an iPod Shuffle because my sister bought one too and the hot-pink shuffle was just calling my name. I also bought a Betsy Johnson bag that was sitting pretty on the sale rack at Nordstrom’s. It was just the bag I was looking for.
All in all, it has been an enjoyable Friday. It wasn’t lazy like most of my Fridays. It was also a gorgeous day to get out of the house. Thank you very much God, it’s Friday!
